HADO BEACH

Beaches on Jeju Island differ in the beach color, water clarity, and scenery, but Hado Beach which is located in the eastern part of Jeju Island, is best known for its beautiful emerald sea. Shallow water and gentle waves make it an ideal spot for first-time surfers. With water so clear that you can see the ocean floor, you can enjoy snorkeling, kayaking, pedal boats and other marine sports. It is also a popular spot for family camping because of its shallow waters on a fine white sand beach.

JUNGMUN SAEKDAL BEACH

Jungmun Beach hosts the Annual Jeju International Surf Competition every year, making it truly a haven for surfers. Surfers can enjoy surfing almost every day because of its various level of waves. Jungmun Beach also offers exotic beach scenery with palm trees, famous sightseeing spots such as Jusangjeolli Cliff, and 5-star hotel accommodations. It is a part of Jungmun Tourism Complex, which is well equipped with various facilities, including Aqua Planet (aquarium), Yeomiji Botanical Garden, Seonim Bridge, Cheonjeyeon Falls, and various other attractions. You can get on the bus to Jungmin Tourism Complex at Seogwipo Central Rotary and get off at the last stop (30 minutes ride), or alternatively, get on the bus to Jungmun·Seogwipo (via West Coast Road) at Jeju City Terminal (50 minutes ride). Airport buses also run from Jeju International Airport.

HYEOPJAE BEACH

Known for its sparkling white sand peppered with pretty shells, this beautiful beach is recommended for first-time swimmers because of its shallow water and gentle slopes. It is also a place where fresh seafood such as abalone and conch are caught. Various facilities are available, including camping facilities with pine groves and lots of grass.

PHYOSUN HAEVICHI BEACH

A beautiful pond reveals a circular white sand beach when the tide ebbs. Sand baths with fine, soft sand found on this beach, is said to be good for neuralgia. It is also a popular camping spot with dense pine forest and lush grass. Camping ground, parking lot, restroom, and shower room are available, and alternatively, you can “minbak” (B&B) in the surrounding villages. To the south of the beach, there are ports and fishing on the rocks of the seashore, so you can taste freshly caught raw fish and shellfish. Pyoseon Haevichi White Sand Festival organized by Pyoseon Youth Association, is held from late July to early August every year, so plan your trip accordingly. Jeju Folk Village Museum is 100m away, and many tourist attractions such as Seongeup Folk Village, Namwon Keunang, Seopjikoji, and Jeju Sinyoung Cinema Museum are also nearby.

GUEMNEUNG UEITTEUMONE BEACH

This long white sand beach with clear and pellucid waters, is popular with families due to its shallow waters. The view of the ocean and the beach, at dusk, is absolutely spectacular, with the reflections of the sun setting in a burnt orange and reddish sky. You can also see the ecliptic “Biyangdo” island which was created by a volcano eruption about 1,000 years ago.

WOLJEONGLI BEACH

Located on the east side of Jeju Island, Woljeongri is a “lyrical”, scenic village with the meaning of “a place where the moon rests”. A beautiful emerald sea stretches out like a painting, and the bright moon seems to linger at night. You can enjoy watersports such as surfing, snorkeling, kayaking, etc., while families

with children can enjoy wading. It is also popular with surfers because of the consistent big waves. There are many cafes with nice atmosphere, in the nearby cafe street.

6. SARABONG PEAK

Visit one of the 10 most beautiful spots in Jeju Island, best known for its stunning sunset view.
